Researchers show that a synthetic “double Trojan horse” drug can fool bacteria into willingly accepting a toxic antibiotic, causing them to commit suicide. By sticking an antibiotic onto an iron-harvesting molecule, an unsuspecting bacterium that gobbles it up also gets a dose of antibiotic.
